IMG_2861Over the course of the nine-day Share the Well Canned Food Drive, our school community collected almost 3,000 food items to contribute to the Sandy Springs Community Assistance Center.
Each division participated, wholeheartedly:
Preschoolers collected food within their individual classrooms. They sorted items by food group and size before counting by fives and tens.
Lower Schoolers monitored the overflowing donation bin and carefully stored the spillover until the fourth grade Mounties loaded everything onto the trucks.
Middle Schoolers contributed on both campuses, making the largest dent with the highest numbers. Grade 5 gave the most items, perhaps spurred by a friendly competition with grade 6.
Upper School students Harrison Jones, Hunter Whitney and Parker Willsey not only counted the US contributions, but boxed, loaded and delivered all MVPS donations to the CAC along with staff members Allison Toller, Dusty Bennett, Emily Goldman and Molly Christian.
Our community’s generosity is overwhelming as we continue to #sharethewell.
