7:19 a.m. Everyday

At the start of each semester on the morning before students return to campus, all Mount Vernon faculty and staff members are called together to attend chapel. While messages of inspiration are delivered through song and scripture, colleagues across divisions and departments collectively pray.
This year, before the close of the gathering, Dr. Jacobsen charged the group to stop what they are doing at 7:19 a.m. every single morning. To pray. Whether walking into the garage to leave for the day, pulling into a parking space at school, making copies in the teacher workroom or answering emails, just stop…and pray, knowing that everyone who is employed by Mount Vernon Presbyterian School is also praying, about anything and everything, at the exact same time.
Having a personal conversation with God, through prayer, is powerful. Doing it together, is extraordinary.
7:19 a.m. everyday. Won’t you join us?
