I want to take this opportunity to inform you, with a heavy heart, that Rosalyn Merrick, Chief of Philanthropy, shared with me yesterday of her decision to complete her tenure this spring at Mount Vernon.
In August 2014, a bright light walked into the life of the Mount Vernon community. Embracing a bold vision and a monumental capital campaign in front of her, Rosalyn rolled up her sleeves and jumped in with both feet. With her joyous spirit and engaging leadership, the School went on to set record numbers for the Mount Vernon fund and raised the greatest investment from our community in Pioneer Tomorrow, more than in any other campaign to date.
Rosalyn shares, βI made this decision with a mix of emotions, including heavy heartedness, joy and excitement for the future of the School, which Iβve been privileged to help set in motion, and most of all gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of an incredible journey with all of you. I have enjoyed every challenge and every win over the past five years as we, together, charted a path to elevate MVβs mission. Iβve been humbled by this communityβs collective investment of time, talent, passion, energy, and treasure; and I am incredibly proud of the depth of work that weβve accomplished together, including especially building the new Upper School.β
Good luck, Rosalyn – we will miss you!
