A Message from Athletic Director, Brad Dehem

2015-16 HERE WE GO!
As we wrap up an outstanding fall season, I would like to take a moment to reflect on my first few months as a Mustang.
The Mount Vernon Athletic Program hit the ground running this year with solid performances in Cross Country, Football, Cheerleading, Volleyball, and Softball. I could not be more proud of the commitment and professionalism our coaches demonstrate, which cascades through to the success of their teams. When coaches are dedicated to their craft and love their kids, strong programs develop, setting the groundwork for great advancement. I have seen the fruits of the effort and dedication already, this fall. Your sons and daughters are in excellent hands, and I am grateful for the coaches at the helm.
ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT STAFF
We have a new member on our team, along with a few returning. Scott Cain returns as Assistant Director of Athletics and strength/conditioning coach. Patrick Coffield is also Assistant Director of Athletics helping with operations and compliance. New to our department is Assistant Softball Coach Joanna Kay who will be serving as the Athletic Programs Coordinator. We have a strong team assembled to help all Mustang athletes thrive!

I want to thank the Mount Vernon Booster Club for their unwavering support throughout the fall season. With your help, the Booster Club has supported several projects for our fall programs.

ANNOUNCING A NEW PARTNERSHIP
Recently, we entered an agreement with Under Armour, making them our exclusive uniform provider for all varsity athletics. We will slowly phase in the new jerseys over a three-year period. The appeal of the brand from our Lower to Upper School students combined with the superb variety and quality led us to form a partnership. We are thankful to support UA, and we hope that you consider buying UA Mustang gear for your entire family.
PERSONAL NOTE
My wife Megan and I are so thankful for the wonderful people and families at Mount Vernon who have made us feel so welcome. To watch our three little ones run to their classrooms with excitement every morning is validation of our incredible school community. We already love Mount Vernon and are grateful for all of you that have reached out to make us feel a part of the family.
I am very excited to see what our winter and spring seasons have in store for us!
