On Wednesday, December 18 more than 50 Mount Vernon alumni returned to campus for the School’s annual Christmas Luncheon. The young alums were excited to reunite with each other, visit with their former teachers, and share stories about their lives in college.
Before sitting down to lunch, Head of School Dr. Brett Jacobsen honored the Director of College Counseling Marsha Powell for her years of service. Noting her plans to retire at the end of the school year, he spoke about her outstanding impact on Mount Vernon during her 36 years as a faculty member. Dr. Jacobsen also brought the alum up to date on the latest capital campaign and what has taken place at their alma mater since they graduated.
After enjoying lunch, some of the alumni toured the Black Box theater and the Mustang Athletic Center, as well as made plans with each other to get together during the holidays.
