SharetheWell_1 copy-02The Mount Vernon community gave in a big way and at a time when our local community needed it the most. From Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 15 the entire Mount Vernon community came together to Share the Well  by donating non-perishable food items for those through the Sandy Springs Community Assistance Center.

Students throughout the School took on leadership roles, leading by example. Mia Whitney as Upper School Outreach Prefect coordinated promoting the drive and organizing the collections at the Upper School. The Student Councils engaged in a friendly competition to increase the numbers in Middle School. Additionally, fourth graders Lauren Dove, Elisabeth Levy, Matthew Collins, and Brendan Utz were instrumental in encouraging Lower School students to donate.
Total count from the #MVSharethewell Food drive:
2,453 items!
Traditionally, MVPS like so many companies and organizations, has collected food during the month of November. Yet last year, after spending time with the Community Assistance Center in Sandy Springs, many of our youngest learners discovered the leanest time of year for giving occurs in the spring. Reflecting on this experience as well as the feedback received from Community Assistance Center volunteers, Mount Vernon made the decision to hold this year’s food collection drive in April.
Thank you to our entire MVPS community – for your support and abundant generosity!
