John Grove: The Music Man

Sep 30, 2015 | Fine Arts, IMAMUSTANG

John Grove Contra PicFor someone who teaches Lower and Middle School music classes, directs all Middle and Upper School bands, and coaches the Drum Line, picking up an instrument (or two) during his personal time is simply an extension of his music-filled day.
Through the fall, John Grove will share his gift of music in several public venues. First, he (along with his wife) will be in the orchestra pit at the Cobb Energy Center, playing bassoon to accompany the Atlanta Opera for their production of La Bohéme.
Additionally, John will play contrabassoon with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at both of their Halloween Concerts on October 31. He has been selected to perform in Halloween Hijinks as well as Danny Elfman’s Music from the films of Tim Burton.
#IMAMUSTANG: John Grove. Please continue to make beautiful music!

The Wells Fargo ArtsVibe Teen Program is proud to provide free tickets for teens to select Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performances throughout the year, including Danny Elfman’s Music from the films of Tim Burton. This season ArtsVibe is offering free tickets to eleven different concerts. Any teen, ages 13-18, is invited to sign up for a free ticket to hear the musicians perform in Atlanta Symphony Hall. They believe in the powerful impact of live instrumental music and want to give every teen an opportunity to participate in that experience.
