Artist Statement: Sarah Eaves

The meaning behind the title “Reminiscing Them” has to do with objects I have that were owned by my ancestors – my family I haven’t ever met – that help remind me of them. In this particular image, I am holding my great grandmother’s necklace.

I came upon a handful of jewelry in my mother’s dresser and was immediately drawn to them and had the sudden urge to take photos modeling them. So I got my camera out and got amazing results (as you can tell by this photo)!

In this discovery of my great grandmother’s jewelry, I not only discovered a new passion and love for vintage items but I also discovered a connection to family I haven’t ever met in my life.
