In an annual effort to give back, Mount Vernon students and teachers participated in a campus-wide Spring Cleaning drive in order to share the well with those in our local community who might be in need this spring.

This year, to broaden our reach and vary our routes, the community donated a multitude of items to several different local organizations, which Mount Vernon students, families, and staff feel passionate about.

At the culmination of the drive, a group of grades 4 and 5 students, with MV’s Director of Spiritual Life Brian Burchick, filled two buses full of donated clothing, shoes, coats, and other items.

Additionally, through the generosity of our community, 200 pounds of canned food and 100 board games were also donated. Items were contributed to 7 Bridges of Recovery, YearUp Atlanta, Community Assistance Center, Glitter of Hope (founded by Class of 2021 Aqil Merchant), and Creating a Smile, Inspiring Home (founded by Class of 2021 Alma Merchant).

Thank you to the Mount Vernon community for sharing the well during our Spring Cleaning Drive! We are better together.
