Throughout the holiday season, two Mount Vernon students – Macy Jane Christian and Libby Patrick – had the opportunity to showcase their talents on stage at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center in the Roswell Dance Theater’s production of The Nutcracker.

This is both of the girls’ first year dancing with the Roswell Ballet Theater, however, they have both taken dance at Mount Vernon in the PlayMaker program for several years.

To date, the Roswell Ballet Theater’s Nutcracker production is the oldest and largest in North Fulton, and yearly has a cast of more than 350 dancers. Over two full weekends, the company stages 12 shows, including special performances for students – Mount Vernon preschool students even got to go!

Macy Jane and Libby auditioned in September and were cast as a bunny and a member of the calvary, respectively. After being cast, they rehearsed September through November, until the show was stage ready.

We are MV proud of these dancers who represented the Mount Vernon community!
