The Mount Vernon School Rock Band – The Fabulous Mustangs – has been hard at work this year. The group has been chosen as one of only four (three high schools and one college) invited to the Troy University Mic Check Invitational Showcase!
Mic Check is a Music and Entertainment Industry educational experience presented by the Music Industry Department of Troy University’s John M. Long School of Music.
The event features a clinic by Michael Wilk of Steppenwolf, who has experience working with Boz Scaggs, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, Billy Burnette, Phil Seymour, Danny Hutton, the Pointer Sisters, Tom Scott, and others.
The Fabulous Mustangs will be featured performers in the virtual event taking place on April 30 and May 1. In addition to the School’s Rock Band, Maggie Sims will be a featured showcase performer with her original song Reflections.
All performances were recorded in the School’s state-of-the-art studios and performed in music videos to be showed for the Mic Check Showcase, attended by groups from around the world.
