Boys Track & Field on the Podium at State Championship

A team of five MVPS Upper School boys placed a strong overall 8th at the 2016 GHSA Boys Track & Field State Championships, held over graduation weekend.
Members of our 4 x100m relay finished 3rd in Class 1A Private with a time of 43.38. Runners include three juniors: Steven Butz, Ahmir Lee, and Marquez Bembry, along with freshman John Watson. While senior Kendall Jasper helped the team qualify in Sectionals, Steven was called up so Kendall could attend the Class of 2016 Commencement.
Marquez Bembry finished 2nd in the 100m Class 1A Private with a time of 10.68 and also placed 3rd in the 200m with a time of 21.93. As a result of his success, he earned a golden ticket to the Georgia High School Meet of Champions.
Additionally, Ahmir Lee earned a silver medal in the Shot Put and junior Alan Harris finished in the top 8 for Discus.
