Last week on Thanksgiving, Class of 2022 Ella Wagner could be seen on National Television performing in the 93rd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

A member of both the sideline and competition cheer teams at Mount Vernon, Ella was exited to have the opportunity to perform in front of more than 3.5 million people lining the streets of New York during the parade, in addition to all those watching at home.

In an interview with the Northside Neighbor Newspaper, Ella shared, “For me, I am just proud to represent my community, the city of Atlanta and our state of Georgia in the parade.

Last February, Ella sent in a video showcasing her talents in both cheer and dance to the parade selection committee. It took about a month before she heard back that she was chosen to be part of the parade.

Ella was part of a 600-girl cheerleader group made up of girls from across the country, and she was looking forward to making new friends from other states. Once in New York, the group spent six days learning both a dance and cheer routine to be performed in the parade.

Congratulations, Ella! We are MV proud!
