IMG_3312As a trumpeter, eighth grader Will Hudson auditioned for the District Honor Band in the fall. Once accepted, he advanced to a second audition for the All-State Band. He placed in that audition as well, and will be performing in both District and All-State band festivals this spring.
Additionally, Band Director John Grove nominated Will to perform with the GISA High School All-Select Band – which is particularly significant, since their high school division only accepts outstanding eighth-grade students to perform with them. When they auditioned for chair placements, Will was selected as 1st chair.  In other words, as an eighth grade middle school student, Will was selected over all the other high school trumpet players to be lead trumpet of the All-Select Band.
