On Monday, January 20, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Grade 5 student Alice (Allie) Parker was invited to perform at a service honoring his life and legacy at the Ebenezer Church.

Allie, who was invited to the service by the daughter of MLK, Bernice King, performed early in the program, sharing her rendition of America The Beautiful. You can watch her performance here at the 6:30 minute mark.

It was really cool because I got to sing in a really meaningful church and for a really special person. It was so fun to sing there because everyone was so supportive and nice. I feel so honored that they asked me to perform.”
– Allie Parker, Grade 5

Allie is no stranger to performing in front of a crowd. She has also performed the National Anthem on numerous occasions at Atlanta United games and was showcased on the daily talk show, Atlanta & Company, in September when she performed an original song.
