Junior Steven Butz (french horn), freshman Mark Grove (bassoon), and seventh grader Will Hudson (trumpet) each auditioned for Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) District V Honor Band, recently. Only a very small percentage of those who audition are chosen for the exclusive group. Impressively, all three MVPS Mustang musiciansย were accepted for the 2016ย honor event.
Both Will and Mark rehearsed with the district ensemble for two days, preparing to perform at the Honor Band Concert at North Atlanta High School the evening of February 7. Unfortunately, Steven had to pass on the event due to takingย theย SAT test.
