Congratulations to Hank Kunath’s grade 7 art class in winning 1st, 2nd AND 3rd place at the Sandy Springs Chalk Walk CompetitionΒ on Saturday. September 20.
Individuals and teams were assigned a 4’x4′ square and issued a box of sidewalk chalk. Registrants entered in one of three categories: Middle School, High School and Adult.
Artwork was judged by a panel of industry experts and based on the following criteria:
1) originality, creativity and artistic technique
2) best use of color, texture and chalk media
3) overall appearance
1st Place WinnersΒ and recipients of $500 –Β Caroline Kilgore’s Team: Maddy Jakes, Addison Geoghagen, Olivia McBurnett and Sarah Sims
2nd Place WinnersΒ and recipients of $250 –Β Caroline Bernstein’s Team:Β Lauren Waters, Emery Dikeman and Melinda Carden
3rd Place Winners and recipients of $100 – Nick Schab’s Team: Jack Palmer, Bennett Williams, Kolby Rothbard and Clayton Patnode.
