As a School of inquiry, innovation and impact, Mount Vernon Presbyterian School shared a new facet of the School’s growth and continual improvement last week. Friday, October 25 the School hosted the inaugural Council on Innovation–18 individuals who are experts and visionaries in entrepreneurship, education, business, and community leadership. Called together as a league of advisors, the Council will provide insights and inspiration to Mount Vernon Presbyterian School and the Mount Vernon Institute for Innovation.
For a full day the Council on Innovation worked with students, faculty, and leadership answering the question: How might we continue to prepare our students to be globally competitive? Such perspective and partnership enhances the School’s capacity to develop learners who engage real-life challenges.
The Council on Innovation (see members here) included business leaders from Coca Cola, Turner Entertainment, Piedmont Healthcare, SPANX, The Weather Channel, First Data, Northpoint Ministries, Freud America and many other businesses and organizations vital to the metro Atlanta. The Council’s findings, observations, and recommendations will be shared with the entire School community in the weeks ahead.
