Mount Vernon’s Visual and Performing Arts Department is thrilled to announce that 16 MV Allstars, one alumni, and three Mount Vernon Studio teammates have been invited to represent the School in the largest theatre festival in the world, the Fringe Festival, in Edinburgh, Scotland.

In Summer 2022, this group of Mustangs will join a cohort of schools across the United States to present some of the finest American High School Theatre on a global scale. Students were selected through a rigorous audition process.

Last year’s production ofΒ The TempestΒ garnered the attention and praise of the American High School Festival who invited the cast not only to present their show to be performed virtually at last year’s virtual global festival, but alsoΒ extended the invitationΒ to the Allstars to attend the festival at The Fringe this summer.Β

Students will be led by a triple threat trio of MV Studios staff – Artistic Director Clark Taylor, Assistant Director and Choreographer Amanda Lower, and Technical Director and Puppetry Coach Spencer Stephens.Β

Congratulations to Class of 2026 Avery Cole, Siena Ferrara, Sierra Peterson, Sonoma Peterson, and Caleb Campbell, Class of 2025 Dennis Norman, Caroline Putnam, Fiza Sewani, and Holly Vogt, Class of 2024 Alyssa Gershon-Palma, Piper Hendryx, and Kat Petty, and Class of 2023 Petros Diamakogiannos, William Nix, Addie Vogt, and Miller Woodall.Β

Class of 2021 alumna Arden Adams will also join the cast, as well as stage manage and team coach the ensemble.

Already this year the MV Allstars and MV Junior Allstars have been busy putting on multiple productions. Upper School and Middle School both performed laugh-out-loud comedic performances in theirΒ fall one-acts, and this week, the Allstars are performing their fall musical,Β Little Women.

Take a peek behind the curtain and hear more about the Upper School’s fall one-act inΒ episode 005 of the Made in MV podcast, featuring Director of Theatre Arts Clark Taylor and Class of 2022 artist and performer Win Scott.Β
