Mount Vernon Online will serve grades 9-12. In the 2022-2023 school year, Mount Vernon Online will start with grade 9 only and will build out the entire Upper School each year over the next several years.

Understanding the needs of the flexible family in today’s environment, students will have access to an innovative program with high touch academic advising and college counseling programs, assisting students to stretch beyond their potential in pursuit of receiving a high school diploma from The Mount Vernon School. Are courses synchronous or asynchronous?

Course work during the four-year program will be asynchronous. While students will not attend live classes with a faculty member and fellow classmates, students will have the flexibility to complete tasks, projects, and assessments, utilizing an interactive online learning platform established by The Mount Vernon School. Additionally, students will be to engage with high touch faculty members for dialogue, questions, and tutoring through dedicated “office hours.”

Each Mount Vernon student is required to complete a set of graduation requirements in humanities, mathematics, science, world language, arts, health & wellness, and maker, engineering & design in order to graduate from The Mount Vernon School. A more detailed course catalogue will be provided in the near future. In the meantime, check out the courses Mount Vernon “day” students take. Additionally, the four-year academic program will meet requirements established by the NCAA.

What is the tuition rate for Mount Vernon Online?

Tuition for Grade 9 for the 2022-2023 school year will be $18,000. Payment for tuition can be paid out through several pathways. More information will be coming soon.

The application process for the 2022-2023 school year will be released on December 1. Parents, for rising grade 9 students, will be required to complete an online application and provide transcripts from current school for each prospective student.

At this time, students enrolled in Mount Vernon Online will not have access to after school programs due to the anticipated flexibility of families residing in Atlanta and throughout the world.
