The Georgia Tax Credit Program allows you to redirect a portion of your state income taxes to Mount Vernon, so students transferring from public schools might receive financial assistance. This year, the statewide program cap of $58 million is expected to be met by February 1, 2014. We ask that you act as soon as possible to ensure that you receive the tax credit and the School receives the financial aid funds for this calendar year.
Early applications are currently being accepted (consider this a “pledge,” as your actual payment will be made sometime between January and March, 2014). The online forms can be filled out in minutes at www.apogee123.org.Repeat Applicants – Click here
A new one step process makes redirecting your tax dollars easier than ever!
The amount you may redirect is limited by your tax filing status:
Married Filing Jointly: Maximum of $2,500
Individual Filer: Maximum of $1,000
Married Filing Separately: Maximum of $1,250
Individuals with pass-through income: Maximum of $10,000
C-Corps: Up to 75% of GA tax liability
*New in 2013, Individuals with pass-through income (Partners, LLC members and S-Corporation shareholders) can redirect up to $10,000 to the credit rather than the individual $2,500 per couple limit from prior years. You still get a dollar for dollar tax credit on your Georgia state income tax return, but with a higher contribution limit, based on your pass through income.
