Sharing the Well at Christmas

The School’s Share the Well efforts were overflowing in December as Mount Vernon partnered with the U.S. Marines in the Toys for Tots collection drive. Students in Preschool through Grade 12 brought in a new toy and in some cases more than one toy for a needy child in the Atlanta community. On Wednesday, December 11 the entire School came together in the Sanctuary for the Toys for Tots Chapel Service. An inspirational message and prayer were shared by Upper School students, Joseph Martin and Hannah Zenas. Lower School student Sydney Carroll and Middle School student Meg Guyton read biblical verses in celebration of Christmas, and members of the U.S. Marine Corps shared their gratitude for the mountain of donated toys and bicycles. This year’s collections efforts brought in 1,037 toys and 11 bicycles for needy families– an overwhelming showing of generosity.
