The Mount Vernon community demonstrated an outpouring of generosity during the month of November. Through the Share the Well Canned Food Drive benefitting the Sandy Springs Community Assistance Center, students, parents and faculty donated 3,169 items this year. This amount toppled the total for 2012 which was 1,722. Way to go Mount Vernon!

Thank you to the Middle School Service Club for counting cans as well as to the Upper School students who helped with sorting efforts. Thank you to the division leaders who headed up this drive: Christine Cooper, Kevin Baldesare, Maggie Menkus and Robin Mathews as well as Scott Cain, Mark Heiser and Patrick Coffield for delivering all the items to the community center.
