Showcasing the Arts and Celebrating the Season

Hustling and bustling through the Christmas season, the Mount Vernon community slowed down for one evening to celebrate Mount Vernon’s visual and performing arts at the second annual Christmas Arts Showcase.

Amid festive decorations and holiday cheer, artwork created by students in Preschool through Grade 12 was framed and displayed gallery-style throughout the Upper School. These creative expressions from each student were showcased and available for purchase with proceeds benefitting Mount Vernon’s Fine Arts Program.

Following the exhibition, 400 guests were entertained by a variety of talented student performers in the Fifth Grade Band, Middle School Chorus, Sixth Grade Band, Upper School Chorus, Glenn Campus Band, Praise Band, Middle School Drama, and Lower School string ensemble. The joyful concert was brought to a close with the audience joining in on the traditional Christmas sing-along.

With much appreciation, we thank Event Chairs Nancy McConnell and Tracey Thompson, along with their team of parent volunteers, who organized and coordinated this memorable experience.

Enjoyed by all, the occasion was an All-School highlight of the year!
