Each of the players on the team contributed to the winning season. The fullbacks, Trey Tiffin (6th), Dillon Procter, Mason Dove (5th), and Sutter Guttery (5th) worked hard to defend their goal and assist the team’s main keeper, Abbott Wright, in maintaining a strong defense.
Weston Schwartz, the team’s sole seventh grade representative, played keeper in the second half and blocked each goal that came his way in addition to playing center midfield in the first half.Β Tucker Daniels (5th), Ryan Rappaport (6th), and Alex Smith (5th) all played an aggressive game on offense and assisted the goals scored making sure to keep the ball primarily on the opponent’s side for most of the game. Ian Castenfelt (5th) scored first on a penalty kick, making the score 1-1, but then Josh Mills (6th) and Hayden France (5th) each scored a goalΒ resulting in a 3-1 game, making the Mustangs the champions! Teammate Tommy Carrol (6th) was unable to make it to the game, but he played well on defense all year long. The hard work on the field and dedication to weekly practices really paid off, and the team ended the season as champions! A special callout also goes out to coach Brittany Tripp who guided the team to victory. Way to go Mustangs!
