Winter Sports are back in action for the new year, with Girls Basketball recording a 77-21 victory over Mt. Pisgah at home last night. This huge win moves their overall record to 7-4.Β

The team has recorded victories this season over Westminster, North Springs, Mt. Zion, and more. With still a little more than a month of regular season play remaining, this team appears stronger than ever. Last night alone, four players – Savannah Robinson-Holmes, J’Bionna Robins, Mia James, and Leah Collins – posted double-digit points.

Last week, Boys Basketball played four games in the span of four days, finishing 2-2. They return to the court this week to play Riverwood at home, while currently holding an overall 6-5 record.Β

Their largest victory of the season came in December when they defeated Elite Scholars 94-50. The team has also recorded wins over Mt. Zion and North Springs.

In Swim and Dive, the Mustangs have had strong showings in all three of their first meets, alreadyΒ qualifying for the State Meet, and recording multiple top three finishes. The team, as a whole, also continues to improve on technique, and a large grouping of athletes have recorded new personal records as a result.

Over the break, MV Wrestling competed in three tournaments. At the Hillgrove Hawk Invitational, Michael Hardie won his weight class, with three other Mustangs finishing in the top four. At the Prep Slam XIV, the team faced off against some of the top teams from over 15 states.Β

This week, the team begins its duals season and will travel to Mt. Pisgah for the Area Duals Tournament on Friday. If they finish in the top four, the Mustangs will move onto the State Duals Tournament next week. Good luck, MV!
