Bridging the Gap, Powering the Future

The Annual Fund is the most important giving opportunity at Mount Vernon School, accounting for 3% of the annual operating budget. While tuition doesn’t cover the entire cost of a Mount Vernon education, philanthropic support enables our School to grow stronger each year by supplying the resources necessary to continuously provide:

  • All aspects of academics, athletics, arts, and student clubs.
  • Faculty development to keep our teachers ahead of the curve.
  • Technology that drives an innovative learning environment.
  • Financial Assistance to maintain access to a high-quality education.
  • Resources that further strengthen our Campus Security.

Inspired by the year Mount Vernon was founded, the 1972 Society represents a group of passionate philanthropic leaders who invest $1,972 or more each year in the Annual Fund. These parents, alumni, and grandparents share a deep commitment to Mount Vernon’s mission and help drive innovation, opportunity, and growth across our School.

Members of the 1972 Society are recognized in the School’s annual Impact Report and invited to a celebration of philanthropy in the fall.

MOUNT VERNON REVENUE

Like most independent schools, tuition covers the foundational in-class experience but does not cover the total cost of educating our students, so additional financial support from all members of the Mount Vernon community is essential for a truly enriching student experience.

FAQ

Like all independent schools, tuition doesn’t fully cover the cost of a Mount Vernon education. The remaining 3% comes from the generosity of our community—parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and alumni.
