David Song serves as Dean of Students, bringing 18 years of experience as a Middle and Upper School mathematics teacher and student leader at Mount Vernon. Having served as a Head of Grade for many years, David has worked closely with students and families through the academic, social, and personal milestones that shape the student experience. As Dean of Students, he is committed to creating an environment where students feel known, supported, challenged, and connected to their school community.
Throughout his time at Mount Vernon, David has also coached multiple sports at multiple levels. He believes athletics provide valuable opportunities for students to develop leadership, resilience, teamwork, and confidence that extend far beyond the playing field. Known for his relational approach and genuine care for students, David enjoys building strong connections that help students grow both in and out of the classroom.
As a parent of two Mount Vernon boys and an active member of the Mount Vernon community, David values the partnership between school and home and is passionate about helping every student thrive.

Our first-ever MV Summer Arts Camp was a celebration of creativity, expression, and imagination.
Campers explored theatre, dance, visual arts, maker, design, and music through movement, storytelling, rhythm, set design, stage makeup, scene work, props, costumes, character creation, and collaborative projects.
The week ended with a special performance featuring original artwork, choreography, and songs from Matilda, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, and Hairspray.
From studio time to the stage, campers created, collaborated, performed, and brought their ideas to life in such meaningful ways.
