Max has been a valued member of the Mount Vernon community since 2016 and now serves as Head of Middle School. Throughout his time at Mount Vernon, he has held key leadership roles, including Middle School Dean of Student Life and Operations and Associate Head of Middle School, giving him a deep understanding of the student experience, faculty support, and the rhythms of Middle School life.

With a relational and student-centered approach to leadership, Max supports teaching and learning, faculty development, student life, and family partnership. He believes strong relationships are foundational to meaningful learning and works closely with students, teachers, and families to create a Middle School experience where students are known, challenged, and supported. A familiar face at morning and afternoon carpool and a steady presence on class trips, Max leads with care, consistency, and a deep commitment to the Mount Vernon community.
