Recently, Class of 2021 Aqil Merchant was named to the Making Caring Common 2019-20 Youth Advisory Board. The board represents a group of young people who hope to make schools and communities more just, caring and respectful places.
We're in the holiday spirit at MV! Middle School students worked with Visual Arts teacher Susan Edwards to create a Sparkle Sandy Springs house that will be on display in the village of houses at City Plaza/Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center area.
Happy Friday, Mount Vernon! Today's Faculty Friday spotlight is Kimberly Exford, Lower School Learning Coach & Varsity Cheer Assistant Coach.
Before Mount Vernon, she spent two years at Darlington School in Rome, Ga as well as a decade prior as a Center Director at a private learning center. In total, Kimberly has been in education for 13 years, and she truly enjoys helping students reach their full potential.
Outside of school, she enjoys coaching cheerleading, going to the movies, trying new restaurants, and reading. Since becoming a Mustang, she is most excited about her time spent getting to work with not only the students, but also my fabulous co-workers. We're happy to have you at MV, Kimberly! #FacultyFriday#mvpschool#bettertogether#madeinmv
Before the break, a cast and crew made up of Middle School students performed Fall One Acts, Box & Labeled. In addition to rehearsals, these students also met with internal MVXperts around labels and constraints we face in our day-to-day lives.
Dr. Jacobsen needed a post Thanksgiving workout, a yoga workout that is. Listen as he talks with Dance Director Brittany Willett Maxwell to learn more about why courses like this exist at MV and the impact on Mount Vernon students. #BetterTogether#MadeinMV#wholechild#mvpschool
Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4 students are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots. On Wednesday, December 18, the drive will culminate with a special Toys for Tots chapel where members of the United States Marine Corps will be present to accept the donated toys. There will be bins in each division for toy drop-off. Join us in participating in this yearly tradition to give back during the holiday season! #mvpschool#bettertogether#madeinmv#ToysForTots
Commemorating the Upper School’s 10 year anniversary, Mount Vernon kicked off the Alumni Council. Focusing on engaging former classmates through networking opportunities, events and initiatives, the council keeps Mustangs connected!
