SIGNATURE COMMUNITY
EVENTS

Mount Vernon’s signature community events bring our community together across all divisions to inspire families through fellowship, advance the mission of the School, and drive impact. Our annual lineup includes Rock the Bock in the fall, the Mustang Golf Tournament, the Biennial Gala, and Mustang Rally in the spring.

Community Events

The Mustang Golf tournament takes place at White Columns Country Club in Milton, GA. The course is a Championship Tom Fazio Design. Guarded by towering pine trees and featuring countless elevation changes, the Tom Fazio-desgined golf course at White Columns Country Club has consistently been recognized as one of Atlanta’s top golf courses.

The tournament kicks off Mount Vernon’s annual Week of Impact, and brings together parents, businesses, and corporate partners in support of Mount Vernon’s athletic programs. Registration for this tournament will be limited to 36 foursomes (144 players). Contact Molly Crane, Director of Community Events, with questions regarding the Mustang Golf Tournament.

At Mount Vernon, we believe that a thriving community learns, serves, and gives – together. Aligned with the School’s mission to prepare all students to be engaged citizen leaders, the week of March 25 through April 1 will be dedicated to making an impact on our local community. This Week of Impact will activate our entire MV community of students, parents, grandparents, alumni, and faculty/staff, to LEARN | SERVE | GIVE.

“In the beginning, our mission was creating community through crisis, and then we added on to that … and beyond. Our whole thought process is abundance, kindness and gratitude. We live in
a society that is so abundant and has so many resources, and people really, honestly want to help. They just want someone to tell them how to do it.” – Jennifer Barnes

This springtime tradition is something our students, parents, and faculty/staff embrace and look forward to each year. Since 2010, Mustang Rally has been an Annual all-day, all-fun, all-school celebration of Mount Vernon spirit and community. The day begins with a student parade leading into a family picnic and an over-the-top carnival as well as a silent auction with amazing opportunities and experiences. Some highlights include the Alpha/Omega Piggy-Back Race, the grade level color war and Tug of war, face painting, carnival rides and a petting zoo.

Contact Molly Crane, Director of Community Events, with questions regarding the Mustang Rally.

Biennial Gala

This black-tie social event occurring every other year, is an opportunity for the Mount Vernon parent community to join together for fellowship with a purpose. All proceeds from this highly anticipated event including sponsorships and auctions benefit the entire Mount Vernon community.

A parent-only signature event, Rock the Block, has been a community-building social tradition since 2015. Each fall parents take to the Upper Campus for an evening outdoors when the Atlanta weather becomes perfect for themed-fun, live music and refreshments el fresco.

Corporate Sponsorship

If you are one of the many business executives or entrepreneurs in our community who either owns a business or is in a position to market organization for which you work, consider partnering with the School through a Corporate Sponsorship for one of our signature events..
