In this project, iD students were tasked with improving Coca-Cola’s internal messaging around sustainability measures. This required students to conduct in-depth research on global packaging processes and devise strategies that resonated with employees across different regions and cultures. The students’ work involved technical research and a deep understanding of project management, corporate communication, and employee engagement strategies.
This collaboration highlights several critical aspects of the iD program:
Real-World Problem Solving: Students tackled a genuine business problem faced by a global company, showcasing the program’s emphasis on real-world, applicable learning.
Industry Collaboration: Working with Coca-Cola gave students invaluable insights into corporate operations and sustainability efforts, offering a glimpse into how large organizations function.
Design Thinking and Innovation: The project required innovative thinking and a human-centered approach to ensure the company’s diverse workforce effectively communicated and embraced sustainability messages.
Impact and Relevance: The project’s focus on sustainability aligns with global concerns about environmental responsibility, making the students’ work relevant and impactful on a larger scale.
This story is a testament to how the iD program at Mount Vernon Upper School prepares students to be impactful, future-ready problem solvers who can navigate and contribute meaningfully to complex, real-world challenges.
