โ€œIt was a hard fought game and we are fortunate to have come out with the victory. Our team played well at times and I am proud of how they kept fighting and stayed together…I want to thank the Lord for the opportunity to be a part of the game of football here at Mount Vernon, along with our community for creating such an incredible environment for our players to play in front of,โ€ says Coach Wayne Dabbs.
The 28-0 win on Friday capped the 7/8 football team victory on Thursday, August 24 as they beat the Walker School 35-0. Both wins previewed the spectacular performance of our 5/6 football team on Saturday, August 26 en route to a 34-6 victory over Fellowship Christian bringing the Mustangs three spectacular wins across all levels of the football program.
