Varsity and JV Cross Country Highlights

ChrisThe Battle of Atlanta – with over 3000 runners – is now in the books, and three of our four teams improved their performance over 2015.  The varsity boys were 34th out of 44 teams (bear in mind that we are competing against 1A through 6A schools – public and private!), the JV boys were 23rd out of 32 teams, the varsity girls were 26th out of 36 teams, and the JV girls were 23rd out of 24 teams.  Importantly, three of our four squads improved their top-five average time year over year, as seen below:
  • Varsity Boys 20:39; faster by 37 seconds versus 2015
  • Varsity Girls 25:12; faster by 12 seconds versus 2015
  • JV Boys 21:46; faster by 1:44 versus 2015
  • JV Girls 32:14

Seth Morrill, Nick Pierce, and Chris Smith were the top three boys, and Maxine Peterson, Josie Meade, and Emery Dikeman led the girls. The Battle of Atlanta meet team results and individual runner results are here, and a meet summary and commentary is here.

Middle School Cross Country Girls placed 3rd and Boys placed 2nd at North Cobb Christian.
