IMG_2814Students in Preschool through grade 12 treated their grandparents to a morning filled with learning, performing and touring on Friday, November 7.
In classrooms, students shared their love of learning by demonstrating their flexible spaces, innovative technological resources and visual samples of the design thinking process. Their guests explored the activities that energize Mount Vernon students every day.
The sanctuary, Kirk Center and Fellowship Hall were filled with a mixture of patriotic and seasonal songs along with instrumental musical pieces, giving our special guests the opportunity to appreciate what all grandparents enjoy – watching people they love, perform with pride.
Students in grades 7-12 led their special friends and grandparents on a tour of the Upper School, sharing with them a day in the life of today’s upper grade student.
With smiles and hugs, it became evident that learning occurs at any age.
Special thanks go to parents Teri Cloud, Joy Carden, Melissa Rutherford and over 75 parent volunteers who helped plan, organize and be on-hand for the event.
