#IMAMUSTANG: Coach Colley is Making Waves

ย Dr. Rae Colley – Upper School English teacher and Varsity Swim & Dive Coach, was recently welcomed into the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Fellows Class of 2015.

Each year the ASCA invites nine coaches, nationwide, to collaborate on a real-world problem within the swimming community. As one of the nine, Dr. Colley will be working directly with Joel Shinofield, Executive Director of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, on a project related to scholarships and NCAA swim programs, specifically examining potentialย approachesย to strengthening collegiate swimming programs.
COY0hrrWIAAc-Ln-1This week, Dr. Colley is in Cleveland, OH, attending the 2015 ASCA World Clinic – a concentrated training conference facilitated by swim coaches and specialists from around around the world. ย 
Coach Colley shares, โ€œI am looking forward to making an impact in our sport as well asย connections in the high school and college swimming ranks, which will ultimately benefit our Mount Vernon swimmers.โ€
The American Swimming Coaches Association is a professional service organization based on a central theme of Leadership in American Swimming through Education, Certification, and Cooperation. They are dedicated to creating and enhancing progressive and highly visible programs that are effective in strengthening and improving the coaching profession and building a stronger swimming community.
