Interim Term Parent Resource

Launched in 2010, Interim Term is a week-long experience unique to Mount Vernon, where Upper School learners are offered opportunities to explore personal interests, integrate disciplines, expand their minds, and serve the public good.

In order to develop global competence, each year, Mount Vernon designs a variety of course offerings, programs, and trips that connect learners with tangible needs in the developing regions, and propel Upper School learners into genuine engagement with real world challenges and opportunities.

The School’s mission calls us to graduate students who are college ready, globally competitive and engaged citizen leaders. Interim plays an important part in all three.

Each student in grades 9-12 will choose either a trip, an internship, or the CORE program. At this time, we are excited to provide details about the Interim Term trips. More information about internships and the CORE program will be coming in early October. Please review the following documents for more information.

Once student groups have been assigned, regular communication from Interim Term group leaders will be shared with students and parents. Additionally, please direct specific questions to: [email protected].
