Monday, May 13, the Class of 2019 was joined by Mount Vernon alumni for the third annual Always a Mustang event. This event aims to help the soon-to-be graduates feel more prepared for life after MV by giving them advice from those who walked this path before them. This year, Always a Mustang was the first event to kickoff graduation week for the seniors.

Returning alumni included:
Cam Bennett (’18) – University of Miami
Ben Blair (’18) – Bucknell University
Abigail Emerson (’18) – North Carolina State University
Mitch Lutes (’18) – Loyola University Chicago
Seth Morrill (’18) – Kennesaw State University
Erin Todd (’18) – Auburn University
Julia Willingham (’18) – Georgia College
Ryan Hackett (’17) – Auburn University
Alan Harris (’17) – Western Carolina University
Brittany Whitstine (’17) – Auburn University

These alumni served on three different panels – College Academics, Getting Involved Socially, and Freshman Year Specifics. They each shared their own experiences, and answered lingering questions from the Class of 2019.

Specific topics covered included finding a major that’s right for you, time management and study skills, Greek life, clubs and sports, the Freshman 15 (and how to avoid it!), school and major transfers, and more!

We are grateful to the alumni who continue to be plugged in and engaged in the Mount Vernon community, and are excited to welcome the Class of 2019 into the alumni family!
