webtrendyBrian Burchik Appointed Director of Christian Life
As a school, we start with questions and seek innovative approaches to learning. Brian will extend this attitude into Christian Life by sharing the light and love of Jesus Christ with Mount Vernon’s diverse student body. Filling a newly created position, as Director of Christian Life, Brian will find ways to reach students, build authentic relationships, and further develop our foundation of Christian values.
Specifically, Brian will organize Christian education programs for the School with a focus on grades 5-12. He will plan and facilitate weekly chapel programs, working with both Middle and Upper School Praise Bands, plan and organize faculty chapels throughout the school year, and serve as liaison to local organizations such as FCA and Young Life.
Brian graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and then received his master’s degree in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary. After serving as a pastor for eight years, he started his own company, LiveFully, where he developed curriculum for private schools across the country, and authored a book by the same name, #LiveFully. Brian lives with his wife Erin and their four children in Lilburn, where he was recently elected to the Lilburn City Council after serving on the city’s Planning Commission.
Brian shares, “I believe God’s story, as told in the Bible, offers the greatest vision for life. I’ve seen firsthand the transformation when people experience the life that Jesus offers, and I can’t settle for anything less. It’s my privilege to lead and coach others to grab hold of it as well.”
We look forward to welcoming Brian to our Mount Vernon community!
