Racking Up Region Recognition

Copy of Bw4jdy7IUAArxmmNine Mount Vernon athletes were recently named to the All Region teams in their respective sports this fall. Three varsity football players, five members of the softball team, and one volleyball superstar racked up region honors.
From the varsity football team – sophomore Marquez Bembry, sophomore Ahmir Lee, and junior Jacob Munoz were named to All Region. After learning the news, Varsity coach Ryan Zimmerman praised his players saying, β€œEach of these Mustangs not only excel on the field and in the classroom, but each demonstrate exemplary character. I am proud of their achievement and their dedication to Mount Vernon football.”
Mount Vernon Softball is proud to claim five players (listed below) on the 2014 All Region Team, including the Pitcher of the Year and the Co-Offensive Player of the Year. The selection of these talented and passionate players to the All-Region Team recognizes and validates the hard work put in by not only those players but all their teammates, too. Their coach Mike Edmonson shared his praise saying, β€œThese young women exemplify all of the characteristics you would want in a student athlete and are tremendous ambassadors of their sport and school!”
