Relationships are foundational to learning.

Grounded in Christian Values

Nurturing Christian values through service and community, we ask questions, share stories, and build relationships. Inspiring one another through the work we undertake together, we seek to design a better world.

From Preschool through Upper School, chapel provides students the opportunity to explore values of the Christian faith. Engaging in musical praise and worship, mindful prayer, and gospel-centered teaching, students discover their personal character and faith. Parents are encouraged to participate in weekly chapel.

Faith Lived Out

Our spiritual life program is called FLO because we believe that faith lived out creates true impact in our community. As we seek to design a better world, FLO provides students with paths of faith and curiosity, nurturing experiences of deep purpose and reflection.

Share the Well

Recognizing the importance of responsibility, compassion, and generosity, we develop hearts of service at Mount Vernon. Through Helping Hands Day and other community outreach projects, the School engages students and faculty in hands-on service experiences. Our community embraces the value of serving others.

Spiritual Foundations

Exploring Faith

All of our students engage in conversations about the Bible, with age appropriate depth and understanding. In our Upper School, students have the opportunity to explore the foundations of Christian faith in our dynamic, religion courses.

Young Life

Young Life is a relational ministry helping high school students grow in their faith. YL is a fun, energetic, weekly get-together where students in grades 9-12 play games, sing songs, and learn about God’s love.
