Solo singers, duets, dancing, an oboe and flute player, and even a magician recently took the stage in what has become a favorite tradition among Middle School students. The Middle School Talent Show not only wowed audiences, it reaffirmed how truly gifted Mount Vernon’s Middle School is.
This year’s show featured 19 acts, with four teachers serving as the judges. Math teachers Mr. Song and Ms. Struble, Geography teacher Ms. Novoselsky, and the Dean of Middle School Students (7th/8th grades), Suzanne Couvillion, judged the performers on their performance, their overall talent, and the reaction from the audience.
Coming in first place was Zoe Stupek (7th) who sang A Thousand Years. Second place was awarded to Katie Goodwyn (6th) who sang Let it Go. And the award for third place went to Ella Uhde who sang acapella to Anna Kedrick’s song Cups. The award for Honorable Mention went to Cameron Dames and Julianna Tyrell who performed the song You Found Me and to Nolan Dalton who played Guitar Hero to the song Through the Fire and Flames.
